Complaints procedure

Complaints relating to lawyers and others connected with our office can be directed to our complaints officer. This can be done verbally or in writing, including by email.

The complaints officer will deal with the matter and where possible will make every effort to resolve the complaint. If no solution can be found, the complainant and our office have the option of submitting the complaint for resolution, for example to a disputes committee or to the subdistrict court. This does not affect the complainant’s statutory right to apply to the courts or to a disciplinary body.

The complainant will not be charged for the costs of processing the complaint.
