Ernst Jan van de Velde

Ernst Jan assist clients in difficult situations in finding constructive solutions. He always puts the interests of those involved first, combining a no-nonsense attitude with an eye for detail. The combination of his experience as an entrepreneur and as a lawyer enables him to quickly to place himself in situations presented, finding practical solutions to complex issues.

He has a general practice at Hoens & Souren, where he focusses mainly on catering companies and collecting issues. He is also involved in the settlement of (large) insolvencies. Ernst Jan is one of the founders of the Hospitality division at Hoens & Souren.

Education

Ernst Jan studied Dutch law at the University of Leiden and graduated in European and international law.

About Ernst Jan

Having worked as a hotelier in the family business for many years, Ernst Jan made a conscious choice to become a lawyer. Ernst Jan has found his calling in the legal profession. Now he is able to combine a deeply rooted sense of justice with constant efforts to achieve the best results for his clients.

Ernst Jan likes to spend his free time with his young family. He also likes to travel and is very interested in history and cultural heritage. During the summer months, Ernst Jan can be found on the cricket field.

Registration

Ernst Jan has registered the following principal legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister):

• General practice
• Company law
• Insolvency law

Based on this registration, he is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
