Maarten Brouwers

Maarten has held various international commercial positions in the automotive sector, in addition to holding a law degree. This combination of legal and commercial knowledge and experience is extremely valuable for his activities at Hoens & Souren Advocaten, where he supports clients in bankruptcies and advises on contracts.

Maarten has a great deal of experience in independently negotiating and drawing up agreements and in the commercial implementation of these agreements. This allows him to quickly relate with your situation and advise on various contracts. In addition, he advises on retention of title, retention of ownership, rights of pledge and the collection of outstanding claims.

Education

Maarten holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Leiden and a Master’s degree in Corporate Law at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. Drawing from his experience as branch manager of a car dealership, he wrote a thesis on the dealer-importer (or distributor) relationship, focusing on the termination of distribution and franchise agreements.

Maarten has registered the following principal legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister):

• Company law
• Insolvency law

Based on this registration, he is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
