In his career in the insolvency, financing and security practice, Mathieu has settled hundreds of large and complex cases in various industries, including transport & logistics, construction & real estate, catering, and business services. As a trustee in bankruptcy, he acts in (inter)national fraud cases, often together with – or against – the justice department, the tax authorities, and the Fiscal Intelligence and Investigation Service.
Education
Mathieu graduated in Dutch law in 1979 and, in 1982, from the Rijksinstituut Belastingen in Leiden. He followed specialist courses in Business and Liability, Financial Economics, and Insolvency Law.

About Mathieu
Mathieu is a terrier: he will stop at nothing to defend the interests of his clients. Even in his free time, Mathieu seeks challenges: endurance sports in the mountains or Bikram yoga. He acts competently in situations where there is little time left to act. He either takes action to prevent situations from getting worse he or reverses accomplished facts, but his aim is always to get back to the negotiating table.

Based on this registration, he is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
