Nickey van Collem

A down-to-earth lawyer from Rotterdam. That is Nickey. A lawyer who understands her profession and is dedicated to her clients.

Nickey advises clients on commercial contracts, corporate law issues and liabilities. She is actively involved in the settlement of bankruptcies in which trustees of Hoens & Souren Advocaten are appointed. Her clients are mainly entrepreneurs and accountants.

Nickey’s experience includes conducting proceedings with regard to rental agreements and directors’ and officers’ liability. In addition, she provides legal assistance to accountants in the event of disputes arising in the provision of services whether or not to avert professional liability and advises accountants on the legal issues.

Education

Nickey graduated from Leiden University with a bachelor’s degree in Law with Business Studies, a bachelor’s degree in Notarial Law and a master’s degree in Civil Law. During her studies, she chaired various committees at her study association and worked as a student-assistant and tutor for first-year students at the university. After her master’s thesis, she studied at the University of Helsinki for a semester, where here courses included English and European Company and Commercial Law.

• Member of the Travel Committee 2020-2021 of the Young Bar Association The Hague

Nickey is used to take action and bite the bullet. Moreover, she has a great sense of responsibility, likes to keep an overview and her clients consider her to be a dedicated lawyer. In her spare time Nickey enjoys playing tennis or exploring her beloved city Rotterdam in search of new or undiscovered restaurants and bars.

Registration

Nickey has registered the following principal legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister):

• Company law
• Insolvency law

Based on this registration, she is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
