Disputes within and about companies
Pierre has a great deal of experience in resolving industrial disputes. Much to the satisfaction of his clients, he resolved shareholder disputes, liability of directors, dismissal of statutory directors, disputes with banks, and disputes after acquisitions. Companies also know how to find him for advice on preventing potential conflicts.
Bankruptcies and restructuring
Pierre has a great deal of experience in settling bankruptcies, including Kraamzorg Nederland B.V. (a national maternity care organisation with 35 branches and 800 employees), Andalucia Projects B.V. (initially a Bouwfonds project, later SNS Property Fund), and Etam Groep (at the time, a market leader in women’s fashion with 220 shops). Regional bankruptcies in which Pierre was involved are the water ride Dutch Water Dreams and Kasteel de Wittenburg in Wassenaar. These experiences have provided him with great insight into companies and have taught him to operate effectively in crisis situations. Entrepreneurs recognise that, and profit from it in resolving their problems.
Education
Pierre completed his studies in Dutch Law (business law) at Leiden University in 1992. He subsequently completed three specialist courses: Business and Company Law (Grotius), Insolvency Law (Grotius), and Financial Economics for Trustees (Erasmus University Rotterdam).

About Pierre
In resolving disputes, Pierre sometimes operates with kid gloves and sometimes he is tough. He is always business-like and goal-oriented, being on the ball rather than on the person: the way to a deal must always remain open. Proactive behaviour and thinking strategically, always being a few steps ahead – all part of his approach. In addition to his work as a lawyer, Pierre is the Treasurer of the Learning to Do Foundation (Stichting Leren Doen, www.lerendoen.org) in The Hague. Learning to Do takes care of school dropouts and vulnerable youth in a daytime and training project. The young people are taught some discipline, regularity, and forms of cooperation, with one of the objectives being to increase their self-reliance.
